Disclaimer

EARS launch events are potentially hazardous. EARS and New Farm accept no liability for any accident, injury, damage or loss howsoever caused except to the extent required by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. In entering the property you accept that all risks are assumed by you voluntarily. You are strongly advised to consider the following points amongst others and if you have any doubt you should not proceed further in this event.

  1. Your personal insurance arrangements
  2. The suitability of clothing and footwear
  3. Protection for you head and eyes in particular, since there is a possibility of items falling from the sky.
  4. Allergic reaction to agrochemicals used in crop spraying. The farmer may be spraying, or have sprayed very close to the launch area. If you have any sort of allergic reaction to agrochemicals you should not enter the launch site.

For its part EARS has made detailed arrangements for the protection of your safety and you should take careful note of the following:

  1. Range Safety Officers (RSO’s) and EARS Officials- are easily identifiable in fluorescent orange or yellow vests and are able to assist you with any safety problem.
  2. First Aid is available on site.
  3. Emergency services contact details are held by the RSO’s and EARS Officials.

You must:

  1. Comply with any requests made by EARS Officials or Range Safety Officers.
  2. Use publicly designated areas only. No go areas will be clearly marked. No one at any time should enter unauthorized areas, including the launching area and surrounding fields.
  3. Not touch any item on site, which does not belong to you.

Rocketry is an experimental hobby, and as such there is a real and ever present danger of injury. All children and/or vulnerable adults MUST be supervised at all times by their parent/guardian. EARS cannot accept any responsibility for injury caused to any child or vulnerable adult for any reason whatsoever. It is the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the safety of their children or any children or vulnerable adults in their care.

Further advice is available from the safety officers or committee members.

Any loss, accident, damage or claim must be reported immediately to a Safety Officer and a record kept.
